Designing a Seamless Kitchen Island in Corian

April 22, 2026·6 min read

A monolithic island is the kind of piece that quietly defines a whole kitchen. The trick isn't dramatic material — it's the discipline of hiding every seam, every fixing, and every service so what remains looks carved.

Start with the section, not the plan

We always sketch the side view first. Overhangs, waterfall ends, and any downstands need to be resolved before we ever cut a sheet.

Joining and integrated sinks

Corian's thermoformed joints are chemically bonded and sanded flush. The result is a single continuous surface — worktop, backsplash, and even the sink bowl can flow as one piece.

  • Under-mounted seams sanded and polished to invisibility
  • Coved backsplashes for easier cleaning
  • Integrated drainer grooves cut in-shop
