Corian vs Dekton — How to Choose the Right Surface for Your Space

Corian and Dekton are the two premium surfaces we work with every day at Style Concept. Both are excellent — but they solve different problems. The right choice depends on where the surface lives, how hard it will be used, and the look you're chasing.

Seamlessness and design freedom

Corian is a solid-surface material that can be thermoformed and joined with invisible seams. That's why kitchen islands, sculpted vanities, integrated sinks, and curved reception desks are almost always Corian in our shop. Dekton comes in large-format slabs with visible joins on bigger runs, but its patterning reads like natural stone.

Durability and daily use

Dekton is engineered by sintering, giving it extreme scratch, heat, and UV resistance — the reason we specify it for outdoor kitchens, cladding, and heavy commercial counters. Corian is softer, but almost all wear can be repaired on site with a light sand and polish.

Budget and installation

Corian and Dekton overlap in price, though Dekton usually costs more per square foot because of its slab thickness and cutting requirements. Fabrication complexity — curves, integrated features, cutouts — often matters more than the base material cost.
